Going diving..

My companions on the cruise to the barriar reef

Me and the skipper on the sailboat Rum Runner

Jaze, the skipper, is pretty much a blend of Vince Neal (Motley Crue) and a pirat. A short fun guy from Brisbane working with tours and as a diving instructor.

The crew was really nice and added alot of them selves to the trip. I definately recommend anyone to book the 2-day trip to the reefs with Rum Runner. Few people (we were only 7 and max is 16) make it less stressful and simply a much more fun and nice time when going snorkling and diving at the barriar reef.

The most popular reef in the Cairns area was the Agin Court reef far out from the Port Douglas coast and I personally liked it the most eventhough the tour I did there with Aristocat on Monday Feb 16 on vessel with 25 people was not so good. Going to the Theford reef outside Cairns with the Rum Runner was excellent and not as stressful and on a much more personal basis with the crew and tour companions.

The rules in the park is interesting..

Arriving to Cairns, Australia

A very nice hostel close to the center is Caravella Backpackers and the hostess Gloria (an elderly lady) is super helpful and you can book all trips and activities from here. Except for having too few power outlets in the rooms, I definately recommend it to anyone. Stayed here 6 nights; 15-21 of february. http://www.hostelworld.com/availability.php/Caravella-Backpackers-Cairns-City-Waterfront/Cairns/5899

The esplanade in Cairns is nice except for the march that you rather hoped would be the sea.

In the small park at the end of the esplande close to the marina is a public swimming pool called the Lagoon. Nice in the humid and hot sun.

In a club in Clarke Quay

New York rap was a bit odd in Singapore, but the asians loved it.

Me and Joanna - a friend of Anders - having a drink at the bar.

A classic drink is the Raffle's Singapore sling

Having a zip of the singapore sling and eat nuts and throwing the shells on the floor seems to be the over class style here. This is the most touristic spot in Singapore.

The super hotel in Singapore - Raffles

Well, I can accept all the luxury and expensive drinks, but do they really need to build in stairways as well. Just crazy and tasteless!

The old parlament building in roman style is tastelessly surrounded by new sky scrapers

The absolut most turistic spot in Singapore

The "lion statue" is crowded with japanese people taking photos. Singapore is very much like a blend of america with an english style interpretted by asians of course.

Good thai food at the river near the financial district

Alot of banks in a very small space

Singapore financial district

The river in Clarke Quay is nice

Exploring the pubs in the party district of Clarke Quay

Had some nice ales in the party district of Singapore - Clarke Quay - with this swedish dude (Anders) who works here at a hotel. My hostel Fernloft was great and perfectly in the very heart of Singapore. So if you go there I definately recommend it.
